Mickelson earns his third Master Cup Betting Tittle

It wasn’t easy, but it was a well deserved victory in this year’s Masters Cup betting action by Phil Mickelson. One of the tournament favorites entering the 2010 Masters Cup odds action due to his #2 ranking in the world Mickelson was among a handful of players that most golf betting experts thought had a shot to win the Masters.

Still, he had been a bit rusty in the PGA wagering events leading up to the Masters Cup betting and the tournament headlines had all been about Tiger Woods. Woods, the most successful athlete of his generation and arguably the greatest player in golf betting history, has cast a long shadow over the PGA Tour of late even though he hadn’t played competitively for five months prior to the Masters Cup betting event.

His off the course actions had captivated a tabloid made public and his return to Augusta was one of most media saturated events in sports betting history. And in typical fashion Woods didn’t disappoint.  At least not until the last day of the Masters Cup odds action. He got off to a blistering start, shooting his lowest opening day round ever in the Masters Cup betting action and set himself up beautifully for a win by hanging within 3 strokes of the leader (Mickelson) heading into Sunday’s round.

But Woods was erratic on the last day of the golf betting and never got much closer to Mickelson in the final round of the tournament.  He had his chance but he failed to capitalize and on the fourth and final day the rust from his layoff form the PGA betting competition showed. Not so for Mickelson, who not long ago held the reputation of being a big time choker, especially in the Masters odds completion, washed away any of those doubts on the way to grabbing his third green jacket.

Mickelson was nearly flawless.  He played aggressive and went after the pin when he needed to and laid up when the golf betting action called for it.  He only had one or two regrettable holes and made some of the best shots of his PGA betting career on Sunday. With this third Masters betting victory, Mickelson finally shed his label as a ‘choker’ once and for all.
