Baseball Odds - New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves Betting
The best home team in the league will try and get another win as the Atlanta Braves host the New York Mets on Monday. The main reason the Braves are leading the National League East is because they have been superb at Turner Field. The Braves actually have losing record on the road but at home they have been sizzling.
SBG Global current line: Braves - 200, Total 8 Under -120.
The Mets have not been a good road team this MLB betting season so this will be a tough four-game series. New York is 26-40 on the road this season. The Mets are scheduled to send Pat Misch to the mound on Monday night. He is 0-3 on the season with a 3.50 ERA. Last time out against the Marlins he went six innings. He has had no success at all pitching against the Braves. In 12 1/3 innings he has an ERA of 10.22 and two losses. New York has a decent pitching staff that is in the top 10 in the league but their hitting this season has just not been good enough to win games on a regular basis. The Mets are 23rd in the league in runs per game and that is simply not good enough unless your pitching staff leads the league and New York’s does not.
The Braves are probably going to go with Jair Jurrjens on Monday night. He has been up and down since returning to the starting rotation. His outing last week against Colorado was terrible as he gave up seven runs in just over five innings of work. The Braves have the edge in both hitting and in pitching in this matchup on Monday night. Atlanta is in the top 5 in the league in ERA and they are in the top 10 in hitting. They are hoping that the addition of Derrek Lee improves their offense and they are also hoping to get Troy Glaus back off the DL any day now.
The Braves have won 13 of the last 20 baseball betting meetings against the Mets. They took two of three in Atlanta against the Mets earlier this month. The Braves have won six of the last eight meetings between the two teams in Atlanta. Five of the last eight games at Turner Field between the two teams have gone under the total.
