Magic live to play another NBA mathcup vs. Celtics
The Orlando Magic avoided the NBA basketball betting odds series sweep with a win against Celtics in Game 4. However, the win might just be a one game respite before the inevitable elimination from the basketball betting post season.
The Magic have been outplayed at every level during this Eastern Conference Finals series and none of the games have even been close until Game 4. In fact last night’s NBA betting odds result was something of a surprise for most basketball betting fans as Orlando had the look of beaten dog for the first three games of this NBA playoff betting series and it looked more and more as if the team had simply given up and waiting for its NBA betting odd season to begin.
But the Magic showed some spunk last night with PG Jameer Nelson and C Dwight Howard finally managed to have stellar games on the same night and propelled their team to win on the road in Boston. But after the break it was all Boston as the Celtics went on a rampage for the home crowd in the third quarter outscoring the Magic 21-16 in the 3rd quarter. Defense took over in the second half of this NBA basketball playoff betting contest and the Celtics gave up just 35 points the entire second half.
Fortunately for the Magic the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year also showed up, and Howard led the Magic to a grueling overtime win 96-92. On the defensive end he was stellar grabbing 16 boards and blocking 4 shots to go with his 32 points. Nelson took control of the game late and did what he does best: hit big shot after big shot finishing with 23 points and 9 assists.
The most impressive thing about this Magic victory is the fact that the victory came on the road with Celtics stars playing at a very high level (Paul Peirce 32 points, Ray Allen 22 points). The key to winning another game in this NBA betting odds series will be to contain Rondo again (just 9 points and 8 assists) but it’s probably too little too late for the Magic.
