Free Picks Eagles at Chiefs NFL Preseason Week 3 Betting Odds
On August Friday 27th the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Philadelphia Eagles in the team’s third preseason NFL betting lines matchup. As most sports betting fans know the third game of the NFL preseason is equivalent to the dress rehearsal for the real season and the action is as close as it gets to an actual regular season game during the preseason.
Kickoff for this Friday matchup is set for 8:05 Eastern Time and sbg opened with the game as a PK with an over/under total at 37.
This is an interesting sports betting matchup for several reasons and one that will command a lot of attention from sports fans. The primary reason for this interest will be to catch a glimpse of the Philly offense without pro bowl QB Donovan McNabb, the face of the Eagles for a decade before being unceremoniously traded away to NFC East rival Washington in a move that could plague this team all season long.
But the Eagles front office liked what they saw from young QB Kevin Kolb in his replacement duties for McNabb in several games last season and decided to give the youth movement a try. Kolb now has perhaps more pressure on his shoulders to perform than any other QB in the league. The Philly fans are hardly the forgiving sort and if he doesn’t come out and perform at a very high level from Day 1 it could be a very long season.
He’ll be helped out by highly talented young players at the skill positions (Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson, etc) and should be able to get this unit in the end zone on a regular basis. On defense the Eagles have a few holes to plug but if Kolb can cut down on turnovers and get the ball in the hands of his playmakers this team should be in the thick of the NFC East battle.
Kansas City it team that’s hard for most sports betting fans to get excited about but with a few good breaks this team could actually put together a winning record for the first time in years. Matt Cassell had an awful first season behind center for the Chiefs but he had very little to work with. The team drafted well this year and with a bit better blocking and some healthy receivers Cassell might be able to get something going on offense this year. KC Fans will be hoping to see that in this game.
Nonetheless, the Eagles should win this betting NFL preseason matchup.
