NFL Betting on old favorites in new season

The Seattle Seahawks, the Denver Broncos, and the San Francisco 49ers -three perennial NFL betting favorites- all started the 2014 season on the right foot. Denver’s Peyton Manning in particular hit yet another milestone in his illustrious career by becoming the second quarterback in history to beat all 32 NFL teams -the first having been Brett Favre. On the other hand, both the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints stumbled in their first outings. Conversely, many also-rans like the Jags or the Raiders started this season the same way the finished the previous.

As the reigning -and first time- champions, the Seahawks rightfully take their place as the odds-on NFL betting favorite, and to back up that credential, they became the defending Super Bowl champion team since the 2011Green Bay Packers to win their regular season opening game for a 1-0 start, and they did it by defeating none other than the Packers. As for the Broncos, they will be looking to not only retain their AFC championship but also to redeem themselves after Seattle crushed them 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII.

After a 2011 slump, Peyton Manning has come back with a vengeance, and is surely looking to win his second Super Bowl ring ever, and the first with his current team the Denver Broncos. This also marks the first season that Joe Ellis and John Elway will be fully in charge of the team.
