NFL Week 5 Odds and Betting Movements

Last Sunday morning I was frantically calling all of my colleagues that I trust for reliable NFL information. What is with the line movement in the Bengals-Jaguars game, I asked. Other than an ailing secondary no one could give me a reason as to why the Bengals had shifted from favorites to underdogs in less than 24 hours.

Sports Betting: Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers

Ryan Fitzpatrick may have to fall back on his Harvard degree instead of playing football because he might not be able to walk after this week’s game. Fitzpatrick and the Bills are fresh off a 52-28 throttling at the hands of New England. Fitzpatrick accounted for all four touchdowns Buffalo posted but he also had a hand in many of the Patriots’ scores due four interceptions. He was sacked three times in that contest.

Football Betting: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Mike Vick said that he dinged up his knee at the end of Sunday night’s game and “hopefully” will be ready to play here. Oddsmakers don’t think Vick will miss any time because they put up a line for this matchup without hesitation. And even if Nick Foles plays, is he really that much of a dropoff? He certainly isn’t from a passing perspective.
