Keys to a Stanley Cup win for the Flyers

What do you get when take the #8 seed and the #7 in the Eastern Conference Stanley Cup betting competition and put the Conference Finals?  If the first two games of this hockey betting matchup are anything to go by, the answer to that question is a Philadelphia Flyers blowout!

The #7 Flyers (41-35-6) have made mincemeat of the #8 Montreal Canadiens (39-33-10) so far in this Eastern Conference  NHL hockey odds matchup and unless the Habs somehow find some mysterious sports betting elixir to cure their ineptitude so far in this hockey betting series the Flyers are on their way to the Stanley Cup betting finals.

In what should have been the most exciting Conference Finals in history the NHL betting action has been anything but.  And it’s not just the results of the NHL playoff betting games but the way in that they have lacked even any element of competition. In Game 1 the Flyers decimated the mighty Jaroslav Halak in a 6-0 beat down.  Game 2 was only slightly better as Philly only won 3-0.

Neither of these NHL hockey betting matchup have even been close nor the least bit interesting.  For the Flyers to Game 3 of this NHL playoff betting matchup they simply need to continue doing what they’re doing. The Flyers offense has been hitting on all cylinders because of good spacing on the ice and by applying constant screens on Halak. The Habs defensemen have been almost useless in keeping the ice off their end of the ice and have been no help in peeling Philly forwards off of the front of the net.

If Philly can continue to net goals in this NHL playoff betting Game 3 by employing this same strategy they will win this hockey betting matchup on the road in Montreal.  Two goals should be enough to the visitors over the top as the Flyers defense has been lights out so far in this NHL betting series.

The defense has been magnificent on two levels in this hockey betting series: 1) shutting down NHL playoff betting leading goal scorer Mike Cammallerie (12 goals in 16 games); 2) backup goalie Michael Leighton has kept the net more secure than For Knox (back-to-back shutouts). Cammallerie is due for a break out game in this hockey betting series and it may come in Game 3. And obviously Leighton has to let a goal in sometime, but even if he does the Flyers have been able to provide plenty of goal support and should continue to do so in Game 3.
